Organize a Drive

Can't Volunteer? Organize a Drive!

Not every person can volunteer for a charitable cause, but that doesn’t mean they cannot be involved in serving their community. Organized food or clothing drives are great ways to pull people together and serve those in need. The House of Neighborly Service donation areas is a bee-hive of activity all day long as individuals and groups are delivering in-kind contributions to help their neighbors.

Here are just a few items that can be donated:

Staple items for food baskets:

  • Peanut butter
  • Cereal
  • Canned fruits & vegetables
  • Tuna
  • Beans
  • Rice
  • Pasta & tomato sauce
  • Flour/pancake/muffin mixes

For homeless baskets:

  • Canned meat, especially pop-top
  • Fruit/applesauce cups
  • Nutritious snacks (dried fruit, granola bars, etc.)

Toiletry items:

  • Laundry & dish detergents
  • Toilet paper/tissues/paper towels
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Razors
  • Feminine hygiene items
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Soap/body wash

Love your neighbor as yourself.
